Chinese Kickboxing - Sanda/Lei Tai 散打/擂台

Traditionally, in China, fighting tournaments take place on a Lei Tai (fighting platform). Lacking the outward beauty and gracefulness of forms, it does show how a trained fighter can implement the system we teach. Our program allows our members to pressure test their understanding of the theories, concepts and strategies within the Northern Shaolin style.

“Show Skill Not Ego”

We strive to teach our members how to better approach the many situations in their daily lives with benevolence and humility. Our vision is to help members develop camaraderie and positive school spirit besides cultivating respect for their opponent and, most importantly, yourself. Our program is designed to help each member build character and perseverance, not the cultivation of ego.

Safe Training

Our training is done in controlled conditions and under supervision. Protective gear must always be worn. It is mandatory that all students purchase their own equipment. We follow strict rules to protect our members from unnecessary and/or life threatening injuries. We strive to create a healthy and positive learning environment for all of our members.

“Kick, Punch and Throw”

“The pretty is not practical and the practical is not pretty” - General Qi Jiguang (戚继光)

Chinese martial arts has a rich tradition of combat and tournament fighting. Our members learn how to use the techniques, structures, strategies, movement, speed, power expression, and breath control of our style while remaining with grace under pressure not to mention demonstrating the character of the fighters.
